Happy Tuesday all! I was recently thinking how long it has been since I shared my daily makeup routine (literally last time was April ’15 hah!), and I thought it would be a fun way to get the year started. Last year I made it a personal goal of mine to reduce spending on beauty products. I traded out a few higher end items with some less expensive and drug store buys which work wonderfully. The products I use change depending on the season, and my current arsenal is full of my winter must-haves.
Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream
Longest name ever for a moisturizer! I revealed this product in the Box of Style unboxing last week, and I am obsessed. This moisturizer is so hydrating without being heavy or greasy. I’ve never been so excited about a skincare product before!
Clinique Superpower Primer
I don’t know how else to describe this products except for “easy.” It goes on smoothly and keeps my makeup in place all day. Exactly what you want from a primer.
Kat Von D Lock It Foundation in Medium 54
I’ve talked about my love for this foundation in the past. It’s full coverage (I tend to lean towards full coverage in winter) and goes on easily. I rarely have to wear a concealer with this since the coverage is so good, which means one less step! It’s supposed to have a matte finish, but it’s more of a natural finish in my opinion – my oily zones are usually shiny right after application.
Bare Minerals Bare Skin Perfecting Veil in Light to Medium
Typically this gets dusted over my oily zones after I put on foundation and then I pop it in my purse for daily touch ups. It has a great natural finish.
Nars Bronzer in Laguna
Nars is on the pricier side, but this bronzer has lasted me forever! I usually use it on my cheekbones and on my temples for a nice glow.
Nars Blush in Orgasm
This might be the most popular product that Nars offers. Orgasm is the perfect peachy pink and it’s so popular for a reason. It lasts forever as well (mine is a discontinued duo with the Angelika blush shade which is why the packaging is so big).
Benefit Watts Up Highlighter
I forgot to include this one in the photograph. Whoops. This highlighter is so easy to use – I usually put in on and smudge it with my fingers. It adds the perfect highlight without being too overwhelming.
ELF Instant Brow Lift Pencil in Neutral Brown
This brown pencil is easily the most inexpensive thing in my makeup bag (literally $2) and it’s so easy to use. The retractible pencil lasts forever and the brush on the end comes in handy as well.
Revlon Color Stay Liquid Eye Pen in Black
True story: I rarely get the eyeliner line straight on my eyelid. The fine felt tip pen makes application way easy and any mistakes can be fixed pretty easily.
Marc Jacobs Highlighter Gel Crayon Eyeliner in Black
I think this eyeliner has dethroned Urban Decay 24/7 as my favorite. It goes on so smooth and it’s retractible so I don’t have to worry about sharpening it. I typically use it on the outside corner of my lower lash line and smudge it until it looks just right.
Sephora Eyelash Curler
An eyelash curler is an absolute must have for me – my lashes are super straight normally, and this curler makes them look so much longer!
L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Extra Black
This product is the only one that remains the same from my last makeup routine (I’ve tried a few different ones in between)! For some reason I hate spending tons of money on mascara, and I think this one does just as good of a job as the various $30 mascaras from Sephora. It does a great job of accentuating lashes, and isn’t ever clumpy.
Makeup Forever Artist Rouge Lipstick in C211 Rosewood
I didn’t include a lipstick in my photo round up because my go-to color changes depending on the day and week. One of my absolute favorites is this medium rose shade with a slight purple undertone. It’s a little different than an average pink shade, and the formula is amazing!
What are your daily makeup faves? Do you use any of the products I listed?
