One question I get often in regards to my workout routine, is how I stay motivated to go to the gym regularly. On a large scale, it’s a few things. I actually wrote a post about it – feel free to check it out. On a day to day scale, I’m motivated by something more simple – I treat myself to a delicious protein shake after every workout. I skip the boring water and powder mixture and try and find healthy ways to make it taste like a desert. It’s seriously the best reward and motivation ever.
Anyway, the other day I purchased vanilla protein for the first time (I’m normally a chocolate gal) and I was thinking of ways to make a crave-able drink with things I already had in my kitchen. I created a Horchata-inspired shake and guys – IT IS SO GOOD! The recipe is simple, and you might already have a lot of the ingredients in your kitchen. While you can use any vanilla protein, I recommend this one. It’s absolutely delicious (even mixed with just water).
(Quick explanation for those who don’t know – a horchata is a sweet Mexican beverage usually made with sugar, water, cinnamon, and rice milk.)
