Ever wake up in the winter hoping the snow will be melted and the sun will be glistening in the blue sky? That’s me. Always. Obviously this never happens, but hey it doesn’t hurt to think positively right? Cold weather means trying to be creative with more winter outfits – it’s so easy to get stuck in a rut and I always try to challenge myself to create different combos.
This look is the epitome of easy winter style. As many of you know, my husband and I live in Germany for the ice hockey reason (roughly September – March) so deciding what to bring over here is always a challenge. I only have one hockey bag to fill with clothes, so I try and stick to basic pieces in neutral colors I can mix and match. These jeans are a staple in my wardrobe (if you haven’t noticed haha), and I think they are perfect with my cozy white sweater and a black overcoat. I’ve also been living in these sunglasses as well – the snow can be blinding when the sun is out! Overall I love the way each piece pairs together for a cozy neutral winter look, and the fact I can put it all together without thinking too much is always a treat.
Jeff and I spent the weekend with my friend Jenn who was visiting from Seattle. Saturday we went to Neuschwanstien Castle – the one the Disney Castle was based off of. It was my third time there, but it’s always so beautiful (there’s a post from last year about it here). Sunday Jenn and I had a day at the sauna at the Kaiserstrand Hotel in Lochau, Austria which was right on the lake and so relaxing. Last year I used to go to the sauna all the time after the gym, but this was actually my first trip this year. There’s nothing really like European saunas in the US – they are just so nice. Jeff and I dropped Jenn off at the airport on Monday, and then on the way home checked out Augsburg, the third largest city in Bavaria. It was so cute – the architecture reminded me a lot of Vienna – everything was really ornate and beautiful. Basically it was a busy weekend! Even though we still have a month or two left here this season we’re trying to see as much as possible when we can. I just wish it would warm up a little!
What’s you go to for easy winter style?
