According to Instagram, it seems like we’re not the only ones to get hit with a bunch of snow this past week. Almost out of nowhere, Mother Nature dumped truckloads of snow here in Lindau leaving it almost too cold and wet to function outside. Anyone else feel this way?
Despite the chilly temperatures, I made it out of the house to go to Jeff’s hockey game this weekend. The rink Jeff’s team plays in is pretty cold – there’s actually no wall on one side (not uncommon in European rinks) so it opens to the outdoors. That combined with the cold temperature of the ice makes it freezing sometimes, and I thought it would be fun to share my typical hockey game style.
My goal is always to bundle up as much as possible without looking like a frumpy marshmallow. A warm parka is a must-have, and I love how warm and cozy this green one is. I also always add a sweater, jeans, and some warm boots (okay, these aren’t the warmest, but the OTK style covers the holes in my jeans). This hat – which I bought at the Christmas Market here is knit and fleece lined – so warm (I used to wear the team hat, but it bought bad luck, haha). Most of the time you can find me with gloves and a blanket as well. I don’t mess around – it’s so cold!
Jeff’s last two games of the regular season are next week. The results will determine if his team will be in playoffs or play-downs (basically you have to play lower level teams to fight to keep your spot in the league next year – European hockey is weird). Obviously I’m hoping I’ll be watching some playoff games in the future – I just can’t believe the end of the regular season is almost here… where does the time go!?
What’s you go-to cold weather look?
