As I mentioned in a post this summer, my obsession with anything lace up is so real right now. I am particularly obsessed with the warm weather update of this trend- a lace up sweater. They actually kind of remind me of old school hockey jerseys. Anyone else?
This particular lace up sweater was sent to me by Zaful. It’s under $20 and a great way to try the trend without committing to a more expensive piece. I was surprised the fabric was very soft and comfortable. Be aware though – it is a one-size-fits-all top and the length is definitely cropped on me (I’m 5′ 7″). I love it though – the style manages to be simple but not boring.
Another part of this look I’m currently obsessed with is my faux leather hat which is under $10. As you already know, I can never have too many athleisure pieces. A faux leather (or suede) hat is an easy update to one of my favorite all-American staples and I have been wearing it everywhere.
Otherwise Jeff and I have had a pretty busy week. This past weekend we were in Italy with some friends for a few days (photos and a recap will be up on the blog tomorrow), and last night Jeff had an outdoor away game literally in the middle of the woods in a town about 30 minutes away. You know the Winter Classic the NHL hosts every year? It’s kind of like that on a much smaller scale. Against my better judgement I decided to hop in our Smart Car and drive the windy, snowy roads to the rink. I have seriously never been on darker roads. I was terrified. In the end, the game was so much fun and the crazy drive was worth it. Snow was falling everywhere, and there’s just something about watching hockey outside that has a child-like feel. It felt like I was in a hockey themed snow globe. Even though I’m not so jazzed about the arrival of winter, seeing the evergreen trees dusted with snow made me just a little more excited for it. Now I just need to get some warm boots…
