One of my favorite trends of the year is anything laced. I think it adds such a cool detail to a basic piece – just like this long lace up sweater. I’m in love with the length and color, and I will definitely be pairing it with some shorts when the weather warms up a little more. But for now, jeans will have to do.
As you guys know, I’m not a huge fan of too much color, so I paired this rust-colored sweater with different shades of black to make it pop and keep it simple. The length of the sweater really makes it versatile – I prefer it much more than the shorter one I wore eairlier this year. I love the warmer weather – It’s so nice to wear ripped jeans without being cold, haha! Since I lost my sunglasses last week, my go-to sun shield has been a hat – I’m still loving this black fedora I got in my Popsugar Must Have Box this past Fall. I’m thinking about getting one in a beige color too – they’re just so versatile.
I know I’ve mentioned my bag before, but it was a while ago and I love talking about it. This vintage Coach bag belonged to my mom… I remember buying it with her back in the 90’s. My mom wasn’t into fashion so much, but she always taught me the importance of having a great quality bag. After she passed away I found it in my parents’ attic. It’s totally scratched and well worn, but it has so much character. I love looking down and seeing it – it reminds me of being a kid and looking up at her (and the bag). Sentimental pieces really are the best!
Friday started off with a home hockey game, as it always does. It was going well until Jeff got an elbow to the face and ended up with a broken nose. Whomp whomp. One of the most stressful things about being a “hockey wife” is the possibility your husband will get injured. There’s nothing worse than being helpless in the stands as you try and figure out why your hubby is surrounded by medical staff on the bench. Though the break is pretty bad, Jeff is doing okay. His team won the game… they’re in a 5 game series in playoffs so that put them up 2:1 against the other team. They just have to win one more to win the series and move on.
Saturday and Sunday were so sunny and glorious. I spent a lot of time outside trying to soak up all the rays I could. Though I don’t know when we’re going back home, it will be within the month or so. Last I checked there was still snow on the ground in Spokane. I am so not looking forward to bringing out my winter gear again!
Jeff played in their away game Sunday with a full mask on to avoid getting hit in the face. Unfortunately his team lost putting the series at 2:2. The tie breaker is on Tuesday so please send the good vibes! If they win we go to the next round of playoffs, if they lose we go home!
