This past Spring, Jeff and I were fortunate to do a styled second Anniversary photoshoot. For some reason I was never totally in love with our wedding photos. It was a beautiful day, the photos turned out nice, but I just never felt like I looked like myself in them. I was stressed out about a lot of things (my mom’s lung cancer among them), and I felt like I rushed through things like selecting my dress and look. Honestly, it was the least of my prioroties at the time.
My sister-in-law, Alicia, was so sweet and organized a shoot for our second anniversary. Alicia is a professional makeup artist and did my makeup, the flowers were done by Kara at Rose and Blossom, and Amber Glanville captured the most perfect photos. I am so obsessed with how everything turned out.
The photos were shot up on the top of Mount Spokane – one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to. The scenery was so dreamy it didn’t even look real. We shot these in June (Jeff still had this playoff beard) and the top of the mountain was absolutely freezing. It made for a good time though – we were all huddling in a nearby cabin in between photos and dancing around for warmth. The chill was well worth it!
I’m not sure why I didn’t share these eairlier… I honestly have looked at them so many times I thought I had! Jeff and I couldn’t be happier with how these turned out, and it’s so great to have these photos that totally feel like us. Before I left for Germany I actually had two framed via Frambridge, and I can’t wait to hang them. Even though it was only our two year anniversary, I feel like we have grown up so much as a couple and individually since we got married two years ago. It’s nice to have photos of that.
I honestly think anniversary photos are such a great idea. Nowadays we document so many life events – why not document your love for each other at sometime other than a formal event?
